Job description

Hudson is a big town with a small-town feel. Our comprehensive K-12 public school district is the heart of the community. Our schools are built on relationships - with each other, with students and with the community.
The Hudson School District is seeking a part-time paraeducator at the Early Learning Center (ELC) comprised of Dr. H.O. Smith Elementary School or Library Street School.  The paraeducator will either work one of the ELC school supporting either first grade or kindergarten students respectively.
This position is a 5.5 hour a day position working 5 days per week.
Job Summary: The Paraeducator will implement classroom accommodations, organize the classroom environment and instructional materials and reinforce instruction in accordance with each student's Individual Education Plan. Other duties include assisting students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning, provide academic instructional support to students and report student progress/performance on a consistent and timely basis to the special education teacher. The Paraeducator will be expected to adhere to behavior management plans and implement a consistently enforced set of guidelines for student behavior.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Para II certification preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting a plus.
  • Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

Working Conditions: 
  • Part Time Paraeducator salary range starts at $18.25 per hour for those with a Para I NH DOE certification according to the Paraeducator pay scale and ranges up to a top step hourly rate of $21.75 at Paraeducator II, steps 14+.
  • Our benefit package includes an employer paid $500 Flexible Spending Account after 1 year of service.
  • Sick and personal time is also available for PT paraeducators.
