Job description

Resource Coordinator

Job Summary: The Resource Coordinator is responsible for appropriate procedure billing, completing logs, and validating supplies. The Resource Coordinator also reviews unposted logs for completion and accuracy, corrects errors as needed, and communicates with staff to obtain required information. The Resource Coordinator will also have direct contact with staff, supply chain, and Leadership to ensure appropriate PAR levels of inventory are maintained and ordered.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates procedure codes and logs for accuracy and completeness.
  • Reviews patient records to determine proper billing or medical code in accordance to HCFA and ICD guidelines to facilitate prompt, accurate remittance.
  • Interacts with key departments (e.g. Cath Lab, EP Lab, Cath Holding, Echocardiology, supply chain, HIM, etc.) to retrieve appropriate information and communicate issues.
  • Assists with inventory to ensure it is appropriately scanned into chart, re-ordered, and maintained in an appropriate PAR level.
  • Monitors items that are on PAR to ensure accuracy.
  • Completes orders through Workday, inventories as needed or foreseen for upcoming cases.
  • Coordinates vendor availability and contacts vendor(s) with case updates for EP and CCL.
  • Interacts with staff to educate and follow-up on billing-related issues and inventory updates.
  • Reviews ISCV to ensure all images are correct for Cath Lab, EP Lab and Echocardiology.
  • Attends all department meetings, works to educate and update staff members as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • HS diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred.
  • Cardiac clinical knowledge preferred.
  • Proficiency with electronic systems and programs required.
  • Understanding of PAR/inventory required.
  • Billing/Coding knowledge preferred.
