Job description

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Manufacturing and Production Engineer to support our Huntsville, AL location.

We are looking for an experienced candidate to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Joint U.S.-Israeli Cooperative Program Office in Huntsville, Alabama.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Production and Manufacturing Engineering Support

  • Support and/or lead on-site evaluations at manufacturing facilities, including Production Line Validations, and report production progress and/or issues and assist in production issue resolution
  • Support and/or lead weapon production/manufacturing tasks, including Industrial Capability and Manufacturing Readiness Assessments, First Article Inspections, and Production Readiness Reviews
  • Analyze production processes and provide recommendations to increase production efficiency
  • Review and provide analysis of production data and documentation
  • Work with U.S. industry partners to facilitate our Israeli procurement and production interests
  • General Engineering Support

  • Analyze and interpret engineering data and documentation to identify and document issues, recommend solutions, and ensure engineering and technical rigor
  • Participate in program status reviews, technical interchange meetings, working groups, test reviews, engineering meetings, and other meetings and working groups as assigned
  • Author and/or edit documents including senior-level briefings; technical/programmatic risk packages; engineering white papers; documents on behalf of the Program Manager, Chief Systems Engineer, or Chief Engineer; failure investigation reports, and other documents/reports, as required
  • Prepare technical and programmatic risk packages and technical reports
  • Flight and Ground Test Support

  • Provide flight and ground test engineering support and technical expertise including analyses of test plans, instrumentation, environmental factors, and critical safety elements
  • Provide engineering analyses of hardware and test data to support failure investigations and debrief key personnel on results
  • Support ground and flight test activities at various CONUS and OCONUS test locations, including analyzing test planning and design, test requirements, test execution, and post-test data

Required Skills/Experience:

  • A proactive, self-starter with excellent people, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and conduct missile system engineering tasks and submit required documentation in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Experience in the design, development, testing, or production of missile defense systems
  • Works independently and/or leads teams, applying engineering rigor to analyze/resolve problems
  • Experience generating briefings, white papers, and presenting information at the executive level
  • Excellent people, organizational, management and leadership skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
  • Possess or can obtain a U.S. Passport
  • The position is full-time at government site
  • Travel: 15% to 30% to various locations to include manufacturing sites, contractor and government facilities, integration sites, and test sites within the United States and overseas
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire (at minimum), and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelors in STEM field with 7+ years of experience working on missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD programs/projects

Desired Skills:

  • Capable of leading and executing extensive engineering support on systems, system elements, interfacing systems, components, devices and/or processes for complex developmental and operational weapon system programs
  • Capable of leading implementation of system engineering processes across a program acquisition life cycle
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and production industry standards
  • Experience with weapon system production and delivery
  • Experience generating briefings, white papers, and presenting information at the executive level
  • Experience interacting and supporting senior-level government customers
  • Knowledge of Missile Defense Agency policies, procedures, and organization
