THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Operations Maintenance Coordinator (OMC) role provides support to the Department Superintendent, Production Supervisors and Maintenance. Ensures continuity of the operating assets, achieving department objectives, and facilitating sound business decisions. The OMC is responsible for the maintenance coordination required to maintain and ensure operating reliability. The OMC for the paper department will report to the Paper Mill Superintendent.
HOW YOU WILL IMPACT SMURFIT WESTROCK:
  • Manages the department safety work order backlog
  • Coordinates scheduled shutdowns and unscheduled outages
  • Keeping "planned work order" backlog according to guidelines; utilize backlog to schedule daily and weekly work list
  • Prioritizing and approving break-in or emergency work
  • Prioritizing work order backlog
  • Scheduling on-the-run backlog
  • Screening and approving all work orders for asset area; assuring quality of all work orders (coding accuracy, symptoms, accurately described)
  • Serving as project originator for maintenance capital in asset area, including documentation
  • Being a technical resource for solving chronic and repeat failures
  • Planning the installation and startup of new equipment to minimize the upset of normal operations
  • Work with training resources to maintain detailed, structured on-the-job training manuals for department tasks and jobs
  • Support and foster safety and environmental compliance

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • 5-10 years of experience in Pulp and Paper industry is preferred
  • Knowledge of Paper Machines and Process
  • Supervisory or management experience is preferred
