Job description

Code Compliance Engineer / Architect

Location: Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid On-Site / Remote as authorized by client)

Duration: 4-Year Contract | Annual Renewals

About the Role
Selected candidate will be responsible for reviewing construction documents for PANYNJ
Tenant Alteration Applications (TAA) to ensure compliance with applicable building codes
and Port Authority technical standards. Prior PANYNJ TAA experience is highly desired.

Demonstrated Skills & Experience
• Independently review Tenant Alteration Applications (TAA) for PANYNJ facilities
submissions.
• Read, interpret, and review architectural and engineering drawings, calculations,
specifications, and reports for code compliance
• Apply the following building codes fluently:
◦ NYC Building Code
◦ NYS Uniform Fire Prevention & Building Code
◦ NJ Uniform Construction Code
• Coordinate review comments across multiple technical disciplines (architectural,
structural, MEP, fire protection, egress, hazmat, aircraft fueling)
• Prepare clear, professional written memoranda transmitting review comments to
facility managers and line departments
• Serve as liaison between PANYNJ facilities, tenants, and other in-house technical
reviewers
• Communicate with tenants' consultants to resolve code issues (in-person and virtual
meetings)
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture
• Minimum 5 years of experience reviewing building codes
• Registered Architect (RA) or Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in NY and/or NJ -
Highly Desired
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Familiarity with PA project management platforms (SharePoint, Trimble Unity, eBuilder)

• Must be able to pass TWIC / SWAC / SIDA security background screening at the High Level
