Job description

The Mobile Body Shop Technician is responsible for offsite customer vehicle repairs and maintaining mobile service truck and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain equipment according to company standards.
  • Maintain all aspects of equipment maintenance.
  • Perform Tractor and Trailer DOT inspections
  • Perform light mobile repairs, lights, wiring, door and window mechanisms.
  • Perform minor component damage replacements, lights, fenders, hangers and brackets.
  • Perform advanced component damage replacements, trailer panels, bumper assemblies.
  • Perform weld repairs to tractor and trailer components.
  • Maintain the quality appearance of the service truck as well as presenting themselves in a professional manner and appearance.
  • Manage inventory control on the service truck and for keeping the vehicle properly stocked.
  • Report to the Body Shop Foreman or Body Shop Manager and will be assigned duties on a daily basis.
  • Maintain availability for afterhours service calls and be available for an open work schedule.
  • Maintain and inventory the supplied tools for the work required in maintaining trucks/trailers and associated equipment.

Basic Qualifications and Attributes:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 – 4 years related work experience in a similar position.
  • Must possess a current and valid driver license with a driving record that meets the insurability guidelines set forth by the company’s insurance carrier. 
  • Current and valid CDL and Medical card as required by the FMVS preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency with related hardware/software systems as needed to fully execute the duties required.
  • Mechanical aptitude and technical ability is a must.
