Electrical Test Engineering Manager
Fontana, CA (Onsite)

Up to $130,000 (negoitalbe) base salary + 10% bonus

Overview
A global manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Electrical Test Engineering Manager to lead electrical testing operations supporting the production of PDUs, switchgear, and enclosure-based power distribution systems for data center infrastructure.
This is a hands-on leadership role focused heavily on electrical testing execution, troubleshooting, and team management within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will come from a power equipment, switchgear, or substation testing background and have experience leading technical teams in high-power electrical manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of 8–10 test engineers and technicians
  • Oversee all electrical testing activities for enclosure-based power systems
  • Manage testing schedules and coordinate with Engineering and Production teams
  • Support final product testing and front-end panel testing activities
  • Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting support, and root cause analysis
  • Review and approve test procedures, reports, schematics, and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and testing protocols
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve testing efficiency and quality
  • Support hands-on functional and power testing when needed
Testing Scope Includes
  • Medium-voltage switchgear and breakers
  • Protective relays and relay panels
  • Power distribution systems within enclosures
  • Communication systems and HMIs
  • Panelboards and automatic transfer switches
  • HVAC and auxiliary electrical systems
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical or power equipment testing
  • Strong background in switchgear, relays, breakers, substations, or enclosure systems
  • Experience leading or managing test engineering or technician teams
  • Hands-on experience with AC/DC functional and power testing
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems
  • Knowledge of NEC, IEEE standards, and electrical safety practices
  • Technical degree or equivalent experience in an electrical or power-related field
  • NETA certification is a plus
