As we continue to expand our presence in the industry, we are seeking an experienced Automotive Sales Director to join our team and drive our sales efforts in North America.
Role Overview
As an Automotive Sales Director, you will be responsible for leading our sales efforts with OEM customers in North America. You will play a pivotal role in developing and executing strategic sales initiatives, establishing and nurturing relationships with key decision-makers at OEMs, and driving revenue growth. Your extensive experience in the automotive industry, strong business acumen, and deep understanding of audio systems will be critical in positioning our products, expanding market share, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
This position will require occasional domestic or international travel. Location within the US is flexible, however, Silicon Valley or Greater Detroit is preferred. DSP Concepts offers a competitive base salary, an annual performance bonus or commission, pre-IPO stock options, and an excellent benefits package (medical, vision, dental and life insurance, 401k plan).
Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the overall sales strategy for Audio Weaver adoption with OEM customers in North America, aligning with the company's objectives and market trends.
  • Identify and target new business opportunities with OEMs, cultivating and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, engineers, and purchasing teams.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product development, and marketing, to ensure a coordinated and customer-focused approach throughout the sales process.
  • Understand customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape to provide valuable insights and drive product development and improvement initiatives.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with OEMs, ensuring a mutually beneficial and profitable partnership for both parties.
  • Maintain pipeline information, up to date opportunity status, and metrics mainly in Salesforce
  • Monitor sales performance, analyze key metrics, and prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for senior management, providing actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations, standards, and technological advancements related to automotive audio processing needs, ensuring compliance and leveraging market opportunities.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows, promoting our brand, products, and capabilities to a wide audience.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to the sales team, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous learning, and professional development.
  • Maintain a strong customer-centric approach, addressing any customer concerns or issues promptly and proactively, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

Customer Collaboration & Technical Advocacy
  • Build strong relationships with customer purchasing, engineering teams, architects, and decision makers.
  • Translate customer requirements into actionable business opportunities and position DSP Concepts as the industry leader for their delivery.
  • Coordinate efforts with DSP Concepts Customer Success Managers to Debug complex technical issues related to DSP behavior, tuning workflows, system integration, or embedded performance.
  • Represent customer technical needs to internal engineering and product teams to shape roadmap priorities.

Strategic Growth & Technical Account Development
  • Work with Sales, Engineering and Business Development to identify new business expansion opportunities.
  • Influence long-term customer audio strategies by recommending architectures, workflows, and platform capabilities.
  • Deliver technical presentations, demos, and solution proposals to support adoption and expansion.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field. MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in automotive sales, with a focus on OEM customers, automotive audio systems and/or embedded SW.
  • Proven track record of success in driving sales growth, exceeding targets, and managing key accounts within the automotive industry.
  • Deep knowledge of automotive audio systems, including technologies, industry standards, and market trends.
  • Strong understanding of the OEM sales process, from initial engagement to contract negotiation and closure.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to analyze market data, identify opportunities, and develop effective sales strategies.
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and persuade key decision-makers.
  • Results-driven mindset with a focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed to meet with customers and attend industry events.

  • Experience with automotive OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and/or semiconductor platforms.
  • Familiarity with audio frameworks, DSP tool chains, RTOS/Linux-based systems, or acoustic tuning methodologies.
  • Experience supporting customers across time zones or within global engineering organizations.
