About the Role:

The Paint Shop Helper works to prepare materials, maintain equipment, and assist painters to ensure high-quality finishes. This position involves efficient workflow, including mixing paints, cleaning tools, and organizing the workspace to meet safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking areas as directed.
  • Mix and match paint colors according to specifications and ensure proper storage of materials.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the paint shop, including cleaning brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
  • Support painters by handing tools and materials as needed to facilitate efficient work.
  • Inspect equipment regularly and report any maintenance or repair needs to supervisors.
  • Dispose of paint waste and hazardous materials in compliance with environmental regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
  • Basic knowledge of painting materials and tools.
  • Previous experience in a paint shop preferred
  • Basic understanding of color mixing and paint application techniques.
  • Ability to operate basic hand and power tools safely.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical ability to stand, lift, and carry materials up to 50 pounds.
