Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Automotive Paint Prep Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing vehicles and parts for painting, executing the paint process, and ensuring a high-quality finish that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive surface preparation on vehicles and parts before painting.
  • Mix paint colors and components according to specifications and ensure color accuracy.
  • Fabricate and fit prototype parts and attachments to vehicles.
  • Disassemble and reassemble vehicle parts as required.
  • Sand vehicle surfaces using wet and/or dry methods in preparation for painting.
  • Apply primer, base coat, and clear coat using approved techniques.
  • Identify and repair imperfections in painted surfaces.
  • Buff, polish, and finesse vehicles to achieve show-quality finishes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment always.
  • Communicate proactively with team leader(s) regarding project status or concerns.
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to visually assess surface quality and identify imperfections.
  • Adapt quickly to changing requirements and provide innovative solutions.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in automotive body surface preparation (repair work preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and prints.
  • Proficiency in automotive prepping techniques such as sanding, polishing, finessing, and part alignment.
  • Experience in painting and clear coating automotive bodies and components.
  • Must supply own tools and toolbox.
