Job description

Metro Services is seeking to immediately fill Paint Mixing Technician positions for a Manufacturing company in Tawas City, MI. This is a Temp-to-Hire job. Apply now!

Duties for this position include:

• Work within the paint line and mixing room to support daily production operations
• Control paint mixing processes and equipment changeovers to maximize efficiency and maintain consistent quality
• Monitor inventory of paint, chemicals, and other materials and communicate restocking needs
• Follow standard operating procedures when using tools and equipment such as dual-action sanders and paint sprayers
• Safely handle sealants, paint strippers, and corrosion-preventive chemicals while using required PPE
• Perform assigned preventative maintenance within the paint line
• Maintain the paint mixing room and surrounding work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition using 6S practices
• Follow all quality, safety, environmental, and recycling procedures
• Identify and report product, process, or quality concerns and assist with corrective actions as needed
• Maintain required documentation and follow all training requirements

Compensation (USD):

$20.00/hour

Schedule:

2nd Shift
Monday – Friday
3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
Some Overtime Required

3rd Shift:
Monday – Friday
11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
Some Overtime Required

Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to work with percentages, proportions, measurements, and basic algebra and geometry
• Ability to follow written, verbal, diagrammed, and scheduled instructions
• Ability to work different hours and shifts as needed
• Ability to work in high-temperature and high-humidity environments
• Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and perform repetitive tasks as required
• Ability to follow all quality, safety, environmental, and recycling procedures
• Ability to use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Previous paint, manufacturing, chemical, or industrial experience is preferred
