The Production Leader will report to the Production Manager.


Job Summary

EP Production Leaders oversee key production departments, processes and employees while monitoring job performance and productivity. The key focus will be on safety, quality, cost and customer delivery. This person will be responsible for leading people, managing production, coaching teams, resolving issues, and driving overall performance. This person will continue to cultivate a culture of teamwork, results and customer commitment. NOTE: ย This vacancy will oversee Steel and Paint departments requiring experience in steel fabrication and/or powder paint.


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Lead Safety in all areas of the department(s). #1 Priority.
  • Bring a customer-driven and quality focus to the entire team.
  • Set performance goals and deadlines that align with the plans and vision of Electrical Power Products, Inc.'s plans and vision, and communicate this to the team. Meet daily and weekly production targets and goals.ย 
  • Own, manage and lead successful completion of production schedules.
  • Drive First Time Quality and build products to company/customer specifications.
  • Organize workflow and ensure employees understand their duties and tasks.
  • Ensure projects are resourced and monitor progress through successful completion.
  • Monitor employee productivity while providing constructive feedback.ย 
  • Receive complaints and resolve issues that may arise. Grow teamwork, coordination, cooperation and communication.
  • Act as liaison between senior management and the department employees.ย 
  • Hire and train new employees. Embrace and promote growth and development.
  • Ensure adherence to legal and company policies and procedures and undertake disciplinary actions if the need presents itself.ย 

Requirements

Qualifications

  • BS degree in engineering, business or equivalent strongly preferred. Other education and/or comparable experience will be considered. ย Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering preferred.
  • Proven experience as a manager, supervisor or relevant role in a manufacturing and production environment. Passion for leadership. Strong leadership presence and influence.
  • Experience with steel fabrication and/or powder paint.
  • Strong combination of leadership, job functional skills and organizational skills a must.
  • Experience in large scale manufacturing environment (make-to-order experience preferred). Strong understanding of best manufacturing practices (standardized work, Lean, flow, 5S, continuous improvement, etc.).
  • Possesses general working knowledge of electrical-mechanical components, installation, assembly. Mechanically inclined and aptitude to learn our products.
  • Comfortable on both the shop floor and in the office environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong presence.
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills. Results-oriented.
  • Ability to collaborate with other teams and team members. Coach/mentor.


Physical Requirements

  • Typically sits, grasps items, and performs keyboarding for the regular operation of a computer.
  • Stand, walk, bend, reach, or otherwise move about regularly.
  • Lift, move, or otherwise transfer items up to 30 lbs. occasionally.
  • Occasional exposure to typical manufacturing production physical hazards.
