Job description

SUMMARY OF POSITION: This position will manage the Paint Department, operating as a full service Benjamin Moore paint store within Ace Hardware. Responsibilities include but are not limited to servicing and supporting both professional and retail customers alike. Other responsibilities include department/store operations including customer service, marketing, merchandising, inventory, and store safety. This role is responsible for the upkeep of the entire paint department, including management of inventory and dispenser maintenance. This role will train store employees on standard operating procedures involving paint and prospect new professional customers within the store. This role will be pivotal in providing knowledge and understanding to retail customers shopping the store with respect to paint/coating needs. This role will also be expected to help in other areas of the store as needed, including truck put away and non-paint customers. This position will also communicate frequently with the outside sales team and regarding orders, leads and general store processes. This position reports directly to the store manager.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have the authorization to work in this country without visa sponsorship.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have a valid driver's license, access to a vehicle and proper automobile insurance.

Must be available to work all scheduled hours, including evenings, Saturdays and select holidays.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or comparable certification (e.g. GED).

Ability to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs. on occasion. May assist with handling drums of material in excess of 100 lbs.

Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g. hand truck, pallet jack, forklift, etc.).

Ability to tint paint, including color matches and evaluating desired color.

Ability to operate computers and communicate via the telephone.

Ability to communicate with sales staff and execute appropriate ordering/inventory maintenance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Prior experience as a manager in a retail environment.

Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field.

Additional Language (Spanish) Preferred

Ability to grow business by conducting effective inside sales calls to both current and Prospective customers.

Ability to manage staff, which includes training, delegating work assignments and evaluating work performance.

Demonstrated in-store competence with activities such as financial reports, credit and accounts receivable performance, scheduling and inventory control.

Compensation: Negotiable
