Job description

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:

Newberry Tanks & Equipment is a leading steel tank fabricator serving the oil jobber, agriculture, industrial, and equipment contractors nationwide. We manufacture steel petroleum storage tanks, bulk oil dispensing tanks and distribute accessory equipment. The company was founded in 1927 in Memphis, Tennessee. We are looking for an experienced material handler that can also assist with our paint operations. A successful candidate will efficiently and effectively:

  • Transport raw materials and tank fabrications to & from production workstations
  • Operate a forklift or Mobil crane while ensuring efficiency and safety to support our paint department
  • Maintain and clean spray equipment
  • Prep tanks for paint
  • Operate lift equipment and spray equipment smoothly, carefully, skillfully, and safely
  • Comply with company policies and guidelines
  • Assist in other areas as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

  • High School diploma/GED required
  • Knowledge of simple charts, drawings, and measuring equipment
  • Simple reading and arithmetic such as addition and subtraction of whole numbers and decimals
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations for forklift, cranes, and material handling equipment

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least three years of successful continuous employment in a commercial or industrial setting
  • Must have equipment operating experience
  • Paint experience is a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Moderate physical effort; requires standing for entire shift
  • Able to lift up to 60 lbs. throughout the day
  • Good eye and hand coordination
  • Visual acuity in order to perform tasks successfully
  • Able to climb, stoop, bend to move from forklift to truck and in yard
