Jet Midwest is a full-service commercial aviation company, specializing in the sale and lease of commercial aircraft, engines, and parts as well as aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul services to the aviation industry.

Position Description:

Title: Paint Assistant

Summary: As the Paint Assistant you will be a vital asset to our component shop team. In this position you will paint aircraft parts within accordance with the FAA specifications. This position is full-time, M-F located in KC, MO.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities included, but not limited to:

  • Paint aircraft detail parts and assemblies in accordance with customer and FAA specifications and requirements
  • Mix and measure all types of paint in accordance with instructions
  • Use HVLP guns, pressure pots, and cup guns in performance of duties
  • Operate and calibrates paint thickness meter as needed
  • Monitor shelf life of all materials
  • Maintain clean work area, tools, and equipment
  • All other duties assigned

Education & Experience:

  • Previous related experience preferred
  • Must be able to wear proper personal protective equipment
  • Ability to apply basic math, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to communicate verbally in one-on-one situations with management and co-workers; listen to others without interrupting and get clarification when needed
  • Ability to safely and properly use paint equipment such as sprayers; calipers, and other tools and equipment
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to identify proper materials and supplies according to specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on quality and accuracy
  • Exhibits dependability, including following instructions; responding to supervisorโ€™s direction; and taking responsibility for own actions
  • Ability to take initiative, including asking for and offering help when needed; performs work independently without being prompted
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities; use time efficiently; and work within deadlines
