Job description

Anesthesiologist (BC/BE)

Compensation: Total annual compensation approximately $550,000 + Sign-On/Retention Bonus

Job Type: Full-time. Day shift. Average 3–4 weekday call shifts per month.

Location: Rutland, Vermont

We are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Anesthesiologist to join a well-established, collaborative anesthesia team serving as the exclusive provider of anesthesia services at a community hospital. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive group of Anesthesiologists working alongside CAAs and CRNAs in a collegial, team-oriented environment.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide safe, high-quality anesthesia care for surgical and procedural cases
  • Conduct pre-anesthesia evaluations and develop appropriate anesthesia plans
  • Administer general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care (MAC)
  • Monitor patients intraoperatively and manage hemodynamic stability
  • Provide post-anesthesia care and pain management
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, nursing staff, CRNAs, and CAAs
  • Participate in shared weekday call schedule (3–4 shifts per month on average)
  • Ensure timely, accurate documentation in accordance with hospital standards
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory, credentialing, and quality standards
Qualifications:
  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an accredited Anesthesiology residency program
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
  • Eligible for or holding an active Vermont medical license
  • Eligible for hospital credentialing and privileges
  • Current ACLS certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Strong clinical judgment and commitment to patient safety
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-based anesthesia model
