Position Summary

The Resident Assistant role is an entry-level healthcare opportunity designed for individuals looking to start a career in nursing or patient care. Resident Assistants support residents and the nursing team while preparing to attend a paid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) class, leading to New York State CNA certification.

Primary Responsibilities

Resident Support

  • Respond promptly to call bells and resident needs

  • Assist with transporting residents to activities or appointments

  • Distribute clothing protectors and assist with meal service

Daily Room Care

  • Make beds, tidy resident rooms, and refill water pitchers

  • Perform regular rounds to maintain clean and organized units

Support of CNA Team

  • Assist CNAs with resident showers by preparing supplies and clothing

  • Help with bed-making and room setup

Additional Duties

  • Perform other tasks as assigned by nursing leadership

Qualifications
