What are paid agitators?

Paid agitators are individuals who are allegedly compensated to provoke unrest, disrupt events, or influence public opinion, often for political or organizational purposes. The term is frequently used in political discussions to suggest that protests or demonstrations are not organic but are instead orchestrated by outside interests. However, there is limited verified evidence to support widespread claims of paid agitators, and the use of this term can sometimes serve to delegitimize genuine grassroots movements. Most large-scale protests are organized by passionate volunteers, though some organizations may provide logistical support or stipends to organizers. It's important to critically evaluate sources when encountering this term.
