What You'll Do

The Packaging Operations group is responsible for providing technical expertise in packaging and packaging performance for products manufactured within Abbott Nutrition.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical leadership across Abbott manufacturing, supply chain, and packaging engineering organizations
  • Serving as a recognized subject matter expert in packaging materials, equipment, and best practices for establishing and maintaining supply with approved vendors
  • Acting as the Technical Lead and/or Project Lead for significant technology transfer and process improvement initiatives
  • Providing operational support to plant teams, third-party manufacturing partners, and vendor performance initiatives
  • Leading investigations, conducting root cause analyses, and developing solutions to technical issues affecting vendor performance and manufacturing operations
  • Evaluating new and existing vendor capabilities related to packaging manufacturing processes and identifying strategies to ensure supply chain continuity and success
  • Ensuring adherence to technical best practices and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Providing ongoing technical support to Abbott Nutrition manufacturing sites, including metrics review, investigations, root cause analysis, and process improvement activities
  • Implementing Operational Excellence (OpEx) initiatives as needed
  • Maintaining knowledge of global regulatory requirements related to the design and control of packaging processes
  • Supporting Global Abbott Nutrition Operations as required
  • Applying expertise in rigid plastic packaging technologies, including blow molding, injection-blow molding, PET packaging, barrier materials, and multi-layer bottle structures
What You'll BringRequired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Packaging Engineering, or another related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a relevant industry role
  • Fluency in English with the ability to communicate effectively in technical environments
  • Subject Matter Expert-level knowledge of packaging processes
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
  • Demonstrated success in technical leadership and project management
  • Proven ability to influence, negotiate, and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in packaging engineering with an emphasis on rigid plastics and bottle molding technologies
