App Dev Automation Lead

6 months w/ possibility of extension

Hybrid 3 days a week on site in Plano, TX; Columbus, OH; or Jersey City, NJ

Pay rate : $ 70 to 75/hr

App Dev Automation Lead to drive automation and SD-WAN network solutions across 50+ sites while leading deployments, troubleshooting, and infrastructure innovation for our financial services client.

Lead installation, configuration, and validation of Juniper, Arista, VERSA, and SD-WAN network hardware.

Key Responsibilities:

Technology Deployment & Implementation:

  • Lead installation, configuration, and validation of Juniper, Arista, VERSA, and SD-WAN network hardware.
  • Oversee network changes across 50+ corporate and campus sites.
  • Implement and manage SD-WAN solutions to optimize network performance.
  • Integrate network security features, including 802.1x (switch port authentication).
  • Coordinate with project teams for smooth transitions from deployment to production.

Break-Fix & Troubleshooting:

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for hardware and software failures.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex network issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Collaborate with OEM support teams (Juniper JTAC, Arista TAC) to identify root causes and apply fixes.
  • Perform log analysis, packet captures, and hardware diagnostics.

Collaboration & Vendor Management:

  • Partner with internal infrastructure teams, network architects, and field engineers.
  • Liaise with OEMs and third-party vendors for RMAs, patches, and software upgrades.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior engineers and support staff.

Automation & Infrastructure Development:

  • Develop scripts for network diagnostics and post-change validation.
  • Support zero-touch deployment initiatives.
  • Drive automation initiatives to streamline network operations.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed records of troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and system changes.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate IT policies, security guidelines, and regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to knowledge base documentation.
