Position Overview:

Business Development Manager for Managed Transportation will focus on supporting inside sales and branches with qualifying and closing MT leads. This position will be working on a consistent basis with Sales, Solutions, Implementation, Sourcing and various levels of management within the customer. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Client discovery calls, face to face visits, strategy recommendation, client contract process. This position will report directly to the VP of Business Development for Managed Transportation

Essential Job Functions:

Business Development Manager-MT

  • Manage and report on pipeline of sales opportunities
  • Collaborate with solutions and sourcing to customize a solution.
  • Meet with clients to explain value prop and discuss customized solution
  • Meet with sales teams to review opportunities
  • Manage the follow-up and feedback loop for all opportunities
  • Manage contract review
  • Develop meeting cadence with sales to develop more opportunities

Characteristics & Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Transportation Industry sales experience
  • Proven experience meeting with clients at multiple levels and building strong relationships
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated with self-learner mentality
  • Strong ability to build and maintain interpersonal relationships
  • Works well with all Echo Business Units and Management
  • Committed to raising the bar in the area of customer service and personal production
  • Proven leader who is successful at multi-tasking
  • Proven success in the areas of internal and external customer service and communication
  • Knowledge of industry terminology, methods and procedures
  • Experience in pricing, carrier sales and operations a plus
  • Well versed in Echo's business plan and future company goals
