Job description

Piper Companies is seeking an experienced Motorola P25 LMR Radio Systems Technician to support critical communications infrastructure deployments for a leading federal agency. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and deploying mission-critical Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems in support of planned and emergency operations. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-visibility public safety and federal communications systems while receiving additional APCO P25 and Motorola infrastructure training. Candidates are eligible to being work without a public trust but must be eligible to achieve after the training period. Key Responsibilities: * Install, configure, and maintain Motorola P25 radio infrastructure systems.
* Build, stage, test, and deploy complete radio site packages.
* Perform preventative maintenance on radio sites and support equipment.
* Troubleshoot infrastructure, RF, and networking issues at customer locations.
* Prepare communications equipment for planned and emergency deployments.
* Conduct site acceptance testing and commissioning activities.
* Program and configure portable and mobile subscriber radios.
* Verify network connectivity and assist with troubleshooting IP-based radio systems.
* Support deployment and maintenance of:
* Motorola ASTRO 25 systems
* GTR8000 base stations
* Repeaters and site controllers
* RF combiners and duplexers
* Antenna systems
* Microwave and tower equipment
* Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and customer stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and operation of communication systems.
Required Qualifications: * 3+ years of experience troubleshooting Motorola Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems.
* Experience supporting APCO P25 radio systems.
* Hands-on experience with Motorola infrastructure and subscriber equipment.
* Knowledge of RF principles and radio site operations.
* Experience performing installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
* Ability to travel to remote radio sites as needed.
* Ability to successfully obtain a Public Trust clearance.
