Job description

TITLE: Oyster Shucker // Barback- backserver

ABOUT THE ROLE

Lowerline is looking for a skilled and energetic Oyster Shucker - Barback/busser to join our front-of-house team. This is a hybrid position that blends the responsibilities of a backserver, barback, and oyster shucker into one dynamic role. If you love the energy of a busy restaurant, take pride in solid work, and know your way around an oyster knife, we want to hear from you.

SCHEDULE: Part-Time  

$17/hr - 18/hr+ Tip Pool

3:00 PM – 11:00 PM  

3–4 Days/Week (Must be available weekends)

OYSTER SHUCKING (CORE RESPONSIBILITY)

  • Shuck oysters with speed, consistency, and proper technique — this is at the heart of the role
  • Maintain oyster station cleanliness, stock, and presentation throughout service
  • Handle and store oysters properly to ensure freshness and food safety compliance
  • Work closely with the kitchen and floor team to pace shucking to service flow

BAR & SERVER SUPPORT

  • Support bartenders by restocking spirits, garnishes, ice, glassware, and bar supplies
  • Assist servers with food running, table maintenance, and guest-facing tasks as needed
  • Bus and reset tables efficiently between covers
  • Maintain cleanliness of service areas, side stations, and the dining room throughout the shift
  • Assist with opening and closing side work as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrated oyster shucking ability (prior experience is required)
  • Previous restaurant, bar, or hospitality experience preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
  • Reliable, punctual, and communicative
  • Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be available evenings including weekends

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE

  • Pay Rate Starts at : $17.00 per hour
  • Tip Pool: Percentage-based tip-out from the tip pool each shift
  • Schedule: Evening shifts, 2:30pm-10:30pm
  • Availability: 3 to 4 shifts per week
  • Employment Type: Part-Time
