Delivery Route Driver-Full Service

Join the COASTAL CREW! Coastal Beverage Company, Inc., the leading beverage distributor in Eastern North Carolina is looking for a DELIVERY ROUTE DRIVER-FULL SERVICE. If you are a service driven professional looking for a solid career with a growing company, then we invite you to join our CREW! As a DELIVERY ROUTE DRIVER-FULL SERVICE, you will be responsible for safely delivering, unloading, stocking and maintaining our beverage products in our customer accounts. Professional appearance, excellent time management, and outstanding customer service skills required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Visit accounts as scheduled to deliver product.
  • This is a field-based role requiring consistent presence in customer accounts throughout the day during designated standard business hours to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure all sales, transactions, and POS are in compliance with ABC regulations.
  • Work safely and comply with CBC policies and processes to ensure proper material handling techniques and defensive driving; use appropriate PPE; and, attend all required safety training.
  • Comply with all DOT regulations. Follow all policies and procedures associated with daily vehicle inspections, driving, substance abuse, and hours of service requirements.
  • Establish positive working relationships with primary contact at each account and with CBC sales staff. Represent CBC in a professional manner by professional appearance and communication. Communicate timely and effectively with sales staff and management team to escalate any customer concerns or issues.
  • Rotate product in compliance with customer, supplier, and CBC policy. Stock shelves, build displays, and merchandise/organize back stock, shelves and coolers.
  • Remove out of date and/or damaged product on a pre-approved management exception; remove all empty kegs and pallets.
  • Price product (for specific accounts designated as driver-priced).
  • Verify ticket and product information, obtain customer signature, and collect payment; secure cash and checks in safe and locked cab of truck to prevent theft.
  • Responsible for daily, accurate settlement of route.
  • Responsible for the care and maintenance of company-assigned property and equipment.
  • Responsible for providing guidance and direction to route assistants on the route.
  • Responsible for regular and punctual attendance to ensure product is delivered timely to CBC customers.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess education equivalent to a high school diploma.
  • Possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
  • Possess the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Possess basic mathematical skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, use whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Possess the ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
  • Possess ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Possess computer skills requiring knowledge of e-mail software, route accounting system, and Internet.
  • Possess the ability to maintain regular and punctual in-person attendance to regularly support delivery operations and service customer accounts.
  • Possess ability to obtain and maintain an active beer and wine sales license.
  • Possess ability to drive, valid driver's license, and a driving record compliant with company standards.
