Position Description
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Lowboy Driver with a valid Class A CDL to transport heavy equipment and oversized loads to and from job sites. The ideal candidate has experience hauling construction equipment, understands load securement procedures, and follows all DOT, company, and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
    • Operate a lowboy truck and trailer to transport heavy equipment and oversized loads safely and efficiently
    • Load, unload, and properly secure construction equipment, machinery, and materials
    • Inspect truck, trailer, and cargo before and after each trip
    • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required documentation
    • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, permit requirements, and company safety policies
    • Plan routes and verify load dimensions, weight limits, and delivery schedules
    • Maintain accurate logs, mileage records, and delivery paperwork
    • Communicate with dispatch, supervisors, and job site personnel regarding schedules and load requirements
    • Monitor vehicle condition and report maintenance or repair needs promptly
    • Keep truck and trailer clean, organized, and in safe working condition
    • Assist with minor maintenance and other duties as assigned

Qualifications
    • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
    • Clean driving record
    • Experience hauling heavy equipment and/or oversized loads preferred
    • Knowledge of load securement, chaining, binders, and safe transport procedures
    • Familiarity with DOT regulations, vehicle inspections, and driver logs
    • Ability to obtain and follow oversize/overweight permits and routing requirements
    • Strong attention to safety, detail, and time management
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Position Requirements
Physical Requirements
    • Ability to climb on and off truck and trailer safely
    • Ability to lift, bend, stoop, kneel, and secure loads with chains and binders
    • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and job site conditions
    • Must meet DOT physical and drug screening requirements

Preferred Qualifications
    • 2+ years of lowboy, heavy haul, or equipment transport experience
    • Experience transporting excavators, dozers, loaders, pavers, or other heavy equipment
    • Oversize load experience preferred
    • Hazmat or tanker endorsement is a plus, if applicable
