Job description

Job Title: Lead Overnight Youth Support Specialist
Location: Minneapolis Avenues (Onsite)
Reports To: Program Manager
Status: Full-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

Position Overview
The Lead Overnight Youth Support Specialist provides leadership and oversight during overnight operations, ensuring the safety, stability, and well-being of youth residents. This role combines direct youth support with staff leadership, coaching, and operational responsibility to ensure smooth and effective overnight shifts. This is a fully onsite, hands-on role working closely with youth.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 6:00 PM - 4:00 AM
Schedule may be flexible based on program needs
Compensation
Pay range: $22.59 - $23.50/hour
Primary Responsibilities
Leadership & Overnight Operations
  • Ensure a safe, structured, and supportive overnight environment
  • Oversee overnight operations including room checks, phones, and shift tasks
  • Maintain cleanliness and order of the program space
  • Provide coverage when needed to ensure supervision

Youth Engagement & Support
  • Build positive, professional relationships with youth
  • Provide mentoring and support with routines, meals, and independent living skills
  • De-escalate conflicts and support a safe environment
  • Support youth in developing life skills

Staff Support
  • Supervise and support overnight staff
  • Provide coaching and guidance during shifts
  • Assist with scheduling and coverage needs
  • Support onboarding and training

Communication & Documentation
  • Complete documentation accurately and timely
  • Provide clear shift updates
  • Maintain professional communication

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with trauma-informed care and youth work preferred
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Must be at least 24 years of age

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This is an onsite role requiring standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
