Field Sales Representative (FastenMaster Division)

Position Overview
The FastenMaster Division manufactures and markets innovative, premium quality wood-to-wood fasteners that are engineered to enable professional contractors to complete building projects safer, faster, and easier. The Field Sales Representative will be responsible for driving sales by researching leads, building on new and existing relationships with potential customers, and educating them on the various products and services FastenMaster provides that can meet and exceed their needs. This key position will maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers through frequent engagement and consistently evaluate any changing needs they may have. The Field Sales Representative will consistently apply our Key Performance Activities (KPAs) and effectively capture share based on a complete understanding of our product's end users and must be a strong communicator, manage their time efficiently, possess strong organizational skills, and above all, be an enthusiastic team player.
Position Responsibilities
  • Promote Safety as the Number One priority of all OMG employees.
  • Achieve all targeted KPI Goals and submit monthly progress reports, reviewing the previous month's performance and planning strategy for future months.
  • Actively maintain and update company database (Salesforce) entering end-user customers in addition to new prospects.
  • Maintain consistent communication with the assigned Regional Manager regarding account activities and business objectives.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels of necessary products, samples, and literature in the company vehicle.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with Inside Sales and Distribution regarding upcoming promotions, product resets, and product knowledge events.
  • Conduct regular job-site visits and maintain follow-up communication.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Position Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1 - 2 years' sales experience, preferably selling products in the construction industry.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to operate a branded company vehicle, exceptions will not be made, including those related to parkway restrictions and condominium, apartment complex, or gated community by-laws.
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines with a high degree of quality and accuracy.
  • Must act in a professional manner with employees, customers, and vendors and develop lasting business relationships.
  • Strong PC skills including experience with MS Office Suite.
  • Overnight hotel travel required 4-8 nights per month, with some after-hours required to meet customer demands. Occasional weekend events also required (1-2 per year).
  • Positive attitude, good judgment, a strong sense of responsibility and ownership, a true team player that is highly self-motivated.
  • Positive can-do attitude.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle while maintaining focus on safe driving and avoiding all distractions when behind the wheel, especially cell phones.
  • Manual material handling involving the need to grip, squeeze, and pinch.
  • Ability to utilize stepladders, extension, and fixed ladders.
  • The position requires the ability to regularly stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and occasionally lift/push/pull/carry up to 50 pounds.
