Job description

ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

   Develops and supervises a productive warehouse operations team by hiring qualified personnel, utilizing effective communication and motivational techniques, providing ongoing performance management, rewarding higher levels of performance and by providing effective training, development, and succession planning.
   Supervises daily activities of warehouse department(s) to ensure that excellent service levels, low transactional cost, superior quality levels are achieved. Provides appropriate information during team talks, department meetings and during warehouse announcements.
   Ensures compliance with applicable industry standards by ensuring polices and processes are properly documented and implemented and by ensuring all employees are trained in standard operations procedures.
   Customarily meets with employees receiving quality reports and/or coaching & development reports. Regularly directs the work of two or more full-time employees or their equivalent. Makes suggestions and recommendations for these employees regarding performance and change of status, including transfer, advancement, termination, and hiring. Meets and maintains turnover goals.
   Develops and maintains quality and productivity metrics and implements strategic process improvements to increase warehouse productivity, improve quality and customer experience. Assists management in implementing changes, as required. Addresses inactivity, excessive breaks, tardies, absences, abandoned picks, and that out-time is used/approved appropriately.
   Effectively performs administrative aspects of position, including but not limited to, timely approval of weekly stats and completion of performance and level reviews, developing and administering corrective action documents, reviewing timesheets, submitting payroll change forms, approving time worked, vacation and time off requests, coordinating system access and security levels and maintaining quality records.
   Plans labor requirements based on operation workloads and skill sets needed and recommends staffing needs to Warehouse Manager. Assists with interviews.
   Maintains effective communications and partnerships with peers (including alternate shifts) and additional warehouse management staff to ensure operations are seamlessly transitioned. Engages in professional relationship building with team.
   Performs detailed research regarding quality issues and implements corrective action plans, as needed.
   Regular attendance is an essential function of the job.

SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS

   Ability to operate powered industrial vehicles
   Ability to perform physical work in a warehouse environment including lifting (up to 40 lbs.), bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, climbing, extended standing, walking and use of hands
   Strong computer skills and Microsoft Office experience required

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

   Bachelor's Degree in any field, or minimum of 3 years prior work experience that is relevant to the team you will supervise.  Including:
   Internal candidates:  Minimum 1 year as a highly performing Lead/Coordinator or a total of 2 years as a highly performing Mouser employee.
   External candidates: Minimum 2 years as a supervisor or higher-level management position.
