Job description

Peak Utility Infrastructure is an integrated engineering and construction company that serves the Electric, Natural Gas, and Telecommunications industries.  We provide a full suite of engineering, construction, operations, and maintenance services, including repair, replacement, maintenance, and installation of natural gas, telecommunications, and electric infrastructure through our operating subsidiaries: SiteWise, Kelly Cable, Riley Brothers, 5 Star Electric, Superior Hydrovac and Superior Pipeline Services. 

Position Title: Warehouse Assistant II

Pay Rate: $26 - $28 per hour DOE

Essential Functions:

The Warehouse Assistant II maintains all aspects of Warehouse (inventory, par levels, organization, delivering, receiving, will calls and daily tracking) which includes but not limited to gas, electric, and communication materials.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assists shipping, receiving, and checking in materials.
  • Assists in moving all materials or items from receiving to other designated areas.
  • Assists in sorting and placing all material in appropriate areas.
  • Assembles all material from stock and places orders on pallets for technicians.
  • Marks material with identifying information as needed.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Deliver materials to outlying yards within the Metro area daily and within the State weekly.
  • Records amounts of all material received and distributed.
  • Assists in maintaining and cleaning the warehouse and shop area.
  • Weekly material inventory.
  • Reviewing meters – count of inventory, examining damaged meters, filling out appropriate paperwork for returning damaged meters, picking up new meters, distributing meters to appropriate areas, returning damaged and dirty meters.
  • Quality inspections of materials.
  • Maintaining, organizing, and inventorying hand tools as needed.
  • Tracks monthly material inventory.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Success Factors:

  • Ability to work full time 40 or more hours per week with various start and stop times.
  • Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy. 
  • Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and packing slips.
  • Ability to fill out routine forms and reports.
  • Ability to navigate the Company ERP with adequate instruction.
  • Ability to travel out of town with overnight stays within the state. 
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-workers.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Legible handwriting.
  • Organizational skills.

Experience and Education:

  • High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) desired.
  • Donkey forklift recommended/and or any forklift.
  • One (1) plus years working in a warehouse environment is preferred.

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:

  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver’s License is required within two weeks of employment.
  • Ability to obtain a Class A CDL (Tractor/Trailer) within 180 days of employment.
  • Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
