Riggs Power Systems is hiring an experienced Power Field Technician to service and repair power generation equipment, including diesel and gas engines, generators, switchgear, and complex electrical systems. This field-based role supports our customers by delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality service.


What You'll Do:

  • Diagnose and repair engines, generators, switchgear, and electrical components
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and load bank testing
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using CAT software, schematics, and service manuals
  • Support start-ups and commissioning on new power system installations
  • Provide accurate service documentation and clear communication with the team and clients
  • Participate in an on-call rotation
  • Represent Riggs with professionalism and strong customer service


Requirements

  What You Bring:

  • Min 3+ years of Power Systems experience with diesel/gas engines, generators, switchgear, or power generation systems
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with start-up and commissioning highly preferred
  • Familiarity with CAT, Cummins, or similar OEM systems
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and use laptop-based diagnostics
  • Valid driver's license; ability to work independently
  • Willingness to travel (up to 50% overnight)
