Job description

Overview

Moonshot is hiring a Vice President of Project Management to build and lead a high-performance PMO organization responsible for executing complex, high-value electrical equipment projects for hyperscale data centers.

This role owns the full project execution system at Moonshot-from sales handoff through equipment turnover-ensuring every project is delivered on time, on budget, and with complete documentation. The VP will establish standardized processes, implement scalable systems, and lead a team of Project Managers operating across switchgear, ATS, RPP, UPS, and UL-listed panel assemblies. This is a builder role: the VP will not inherit a mature PMO-they will design it, implement it, and scale it, while actively driving execution on critical projects. The VP of Project Management is ultimately accountable for execution predictability, schedule reliability, and customer delivery performance across all projects at Moonshot.

Key Responsibilities
  1. PMO Leadership & Execution: Build and lead Moonshot's PMO, including structure, governance, and standardized execution processes. Own delivery of all projects across schedule, budget, scope, and documentation. Drive consistent execution from sales handoff procurement production shipment turnover.
  2. Cross-Functional Delivery: Align Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Operations around project priorities. Coordinate design, sourcing, and production to ensure on-time delivery. Identify risks early and eliminate bottlenecks across the full project lifecycle.
  3. Team Leadership: Build, lead, and scale a high-performing team of Project Managers. Set clear expectations, KPIs, and accountability standards. Coach team on execution discipline, communication, and decision-making.
  4. Customer & Commercial Management: Ensure clear, consistent communication across all customer projects. Own escalation, issue resolution, and high-risk project management. Lead disciplined change order management to protect scope, schedule, and margin.
  5. Systems & Continuous Improvement: Implement tools and systems for project tracking, forecasting, and reporting. Improve execution speed, predictability, and documentation quality. Establish scalable processes to support company growth.
Qualifications

Experience:

  • 10+ years of project management experience in manufacturing, EPC, or engineering-to-order environments, with 5+ years leading teams or PM organizations
  • Proven track record building or scaling a PMO or project management function
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex, multi-disciplinary projects on time and within budget
  • Experience managing large project portfolios with competing priorities
  • Experience implementing project management tools, systems, and reporting frameworks
  • Strong experience in electrical equipment manufacturing (switchgear, panelboards, power distribution), data center or mission-critical infrastructure, and/or industrial manufacturing
  • Familiarity with long-lead procurement environments, UL Standards (508A, 891, 67), and engineering-to-order workflows
  • Experience in high-growth or scaling organizations (preferred)
  • Experience implementing ERP/PM tool integrations (preferred)
  • Background in data center infrastructure or hyperscale environments (preferred)

Skills:

  • Strong operator mindset with the ability to drive execution and outcomes, not just manage status
  • Solid financial acumen, including budget management, cost tracking, and margin awareness
  • Strong risk identification and mitigation capability
  • Strong cross-functional leadership across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and operations

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • PMP or equivalent certification (preferred)
Why Moonshot?
  • Massive Impact: Build the execution engine behind next-gen AI and data center infrastructure.
  • Ownership: Design and lead a critical function from the ground up.
  • Speed: Operate in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.
  • Builder Culture: Work with a team that values execution, accountability, and results.
  • Career Growth: Lead a function that will scale rapidly with the business.
