Job description

As a member of Fox Rothschild’s Legal Talent team, the Senior Manager of EntryLevel Recruitment is responsible for the endtoend strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of the firm’s law student and entrylevel hiring programs across all offices. This role leads the law school outreach strategy, manages the summer associate program lifecycle, oversees entrylevel associate hiring and onboarding, and partners with Department Chairs, Office Managing Partners, and the Talent team to ensure the firm attracts, selects, and retains top earlycareer legal talent. The Senior Manager supervises recruiting team members and drives consistent, compliant, datainformed processes firmwide.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of the firm’s entry-level recruitment cycle; manage and monitor candidates from the resume screening stage through callback interviews, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and an exceptional candidate experience
  • Oversee and synthesize interview feedback; lead and facilitate offer discussion and decisionmaking meetings in partnership with Firm leadership.
  • Serve as a subjectmatter expert and trusted advisor to partners and associates by developing and delivering training on interview best practices, evaluation rubrics, candidate selection criteria, and applicable legal and compliance requirements.
  • Participate in law school campus events to increase and improve visibility at targeted law schools. Develop and foster key contacts with law schools.
  • Design and continuously enhance the summer associate program: work assignment systems, mentor pairings, training curricula, performance evaluations, social events, and final offer decisions.
  • Evaluate summer program outcomes and retention metrics; develop actionable insights and recommendations to inform future hiring strategies and workforce planning.
  • Track and assist with analysis of results of Summer Associate class outcomes to create meaningful data for a better understanding of future success factors.
  • Collaborate with the Manager of Recruitment Operations on the firm’s law school engagement strategy including employer branding, information sessions, panels, receptions, student outreach, and digital campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the Manager of Recruitment Operations regarding the onboarding process for the summer associates and fall associates.
  • Ensure compliance with Firm’s hiring policies and guidelines.
  • Analyze attorney recruiting trends and recommend innovative strategies to enhance the recruiting efforts of the Firm.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management to Coordinators and Assistants; delegate responsibilities effectively to ensure operational excellence and timely execution of recruiting initiatives.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain relationships with peers at competitive firms, including membership in National Association for Law Placement.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor the entrylevel recruiting and summer program budgets; forecast future needs and ensure costeffective use of resources.
  • Lead or contribute to special projects and crossdepartmental initiatives related to recruiting, talent development, or firmwide strategic priorities, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES):

Education:     

  • Bachelor’s degree required; JD or advanced degree in HR/Business a plus.

Experience:

  • 7-10+ years of experience in legal recruitment, with significant responsibility for entrylevel hiring and direct leadership of summer associate programs. Demonstrated expertise in law school recruiting cycles, offer timelines, candidate evaluation, and earlycareer development practices.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and relationshipbuilding skills; ability to influence without authority and navigate a partnership environment.
  • Ability to manage recruiting efforts across multiple locations.
  • Experience managing and delegating to others across various time zones.
  • Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter, applicant tracking systems (such as viDesktop), and Flo Recruit a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word) required.

  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a strong commitment to client service and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, professional environment.
  • Possess confidence and the capability to interact with the Firm's Leadership on a regular basis.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance longterm planning and handson execution in a fastpaced environment. Requires travel, which could include overnight stays. Travel will be domestic and related to law student recruiting events, summer program events, and inter-office collaboration.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel offsite to areas not accessible by public transportation required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Sedentary work: Exertion of physical strength to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 10 pounds. Work involves sitting most of the time.  Walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The salary ranges for this position apply to the respective listed locations. The salary range reflects a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for a position. Reasonable estimates of the current ranges for this position are:

  • Chicago, Denver, Minneapolis: $160,000 - $190,000
  • Seattle & Washington, DC: $175,000 - $190,000
  • New York & San Francisco: $178,000 - $195,000
