Job description

Regular, Full-Time position | Schedule: minimum of 40 hours per week, flexible hours depending on departmental needs | Pay: PG14, Hourly, dependent upon experience level | *Sign-On Bonus Included*

Job Purpose or Objective(s): The Respiratory Care and Sleep Lab Manager oversees the daily operations and staff of the Respiratory Care and Sleep Lab departments at Talihina hospital. You will coordinate all therapeutic, diagnostic, and assessment related responsibilities performed within the respiratory care function services. You will report to the Director.  

Primary Tasks:

  1. Oversee staff and operations of the Respiratory Care and Sleep Lab departments.

  2. Perform sleep studies and score all lab sleep studies and multi-stage latency testing (MSLT's) to diagnose narcolepsy.

  3. Treat patients with breathing disorders in multiple care settings including emergency care, neonatal, and scheduled care.

  4. Ensure departments are adequately staffed for each shift; maintain scheduling. 

  5. Schedule consultations and travel to surrounding clinics for Pulmonary Function Tests and Diffusion Lung Capacity; schedule and set up laboratory and home studies.

  6. Train personnel in the technical aspects of administration of respiratory therapy treatments. 

  7. Manage administrative operations including department budgets, reports, activity reports, payroll records and other data.

  8. Maintain inventory stock level, storage, and use of supplies; submit purchase requisitions.

  9. Maintain existing equipment and collaborate with biomedical department on preventive maintenance for equipment.

  10. Coordinate work and call schedules for the Respiratory Department.

  11. Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned.

Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in health or related field
  • Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Care School 
  • Registered or Certified Respiratory Therapist with the National Board for Respiratory Care
  • Knowledge of Respiratory therapy and cardiology treatments and studies
  • Two [2] years of related experience
