Job description

DescriptionPrimary duties and responsibilities: Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary health care team providing spiritual care to patients and families in medical specialties where chronic illness and pain are evident such as Winship Cancer, Palliative Care, Staff Support, Critical Care and Brain Health. Participates in research agenda. Participates in continuous collaboration with educators, team members and other health care professionals to promote environment of care, healing and professional development.

CCSH Fellows are expected to engage in the learning and practice of CBCT, develop a personalized certification pathway, and to learn and implement the CCSH interventional approach through individual study, clinical practice and group work. Understands and complies with Spiritual Health policies, and applicable Emory Healthcare policies. For majority, the goal would be to become a registered CCSH interventionist through Spiritual Health at Emory Healthcare and Emory's collaboration with the Center for Contemplative Science and Compassion-Based Ethics at Emory, not through ACPE.

This is a time limited position for two years. Minimum Required Qualifications: Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education in a program credentialed by ACPE. MDiv or other Master's degree in theology or proof of board eligibility by Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) or its strategic partners (NAJC, NACC, CASC/ACSS).

Preferred Qualifications Ordination, license or endorsement by an acknowledged ecclesiastical body or specialized spiritual/philosophical/religious group preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks.

Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock , Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation , Shift work, Travel may be required.
