Job description

Job Title: Polysomnographic Technologist

Pay Range: $36.00 - $42.00 per hour

Sleep Technologist - RWJBarnabas Health
A typical day for a Sleep Technologist may include:
  • Performing overnight sleep studies, including in-center polysomnography (PSG) and home sleep apnea testing (HSAT).
  • Collecting, analyzing, and integrating patient information to ensure individualized, high-quality care.
  • Reviewing physician orders, patient history, and testing protocols prior to each study.
  • Conducting diagnostic and therapeutic sleep procedures, including PAP titration, oxygen titration, MSLT, MWT, and parasomnia studies.
  • Monitoring patients throughout testing and responding to changes in their condition.
  • Educating patients on sleep study procedures, equipment, and treatment plans.
  • Maintaining, inspecting, and troubleshooting sleep study equipment while ensuring proper inventory management.
  • Reviewing completed sleep studies, providing feedback to staff, and adhering to all sleep center policies and quality standards.

To be considered for this Sleep Technologist opportunity:
Required:
  • Current New Jersey State License as a Polysomnographic Technologist and/or Respiratory Therapist.
  • At least one (1) year of experience as a Sleep Technologist.

Preferred:
  • Qualification to obtain, or current possession of, the Certification in Clinical Sleep Health (CCSH).

Certifications & Licenses Required:
  • Registration through the ABSM, BRPT, or NBRC.
  • Current CPR or BLS certification.
