Job description

Construction Estimator
This position is responsible for providing accurate full-service estimating and planning services to our customers. This position includes working with State DOTs, municipalities, private contractors and work initiated by internal stakeholders.
 
Job Type: Full-Time +, Exempt
Mon. - Friday. (Hybrid) 8 hrs. daily
Pay: $65,000 - $82,000 Annually - Based on experience

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Apply design and construction knowledge in the preparation of construction estimates for installation, replacement, and upgrading of traffic signals, street lighting, roadway signage and sign structures, guardrail and other DOT related items.
  • Analyze construction challenges, using customer-provided and stand-alone tools, and offer effective and efficient resolutions promptly while working on multiple projects.
  • Communicate well with all internal team members, government representatives and private customers.
  • Interface with customers and perform pre-bid site visits needed to gather critical information/data.
  • Use construction estimating software, Bid2Win, Computer Aided Design (CAD) software including AutoCAD, GIS-based drafting tools, and more.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3 years construction/electrical or related estimating experience.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Focus on ensuring that we provide thorough and accurate bids.
  • Ability and willingness to work occasional extra hours to support clients and deadlines, including weekends.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and construction spec. requirements.
Pre-Screen:
  • Upon offer, employees will be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and MVR check.
License & Certifications:
  • A valid driver's license is required.
Travel Requirements:
  • Travel within the state. Mileage reimbursement provided. Some Company paid overnight stays may be required.
  • Some out-of-state travel required during the training process.
Physical Requirements:
  • RARE (less than 10%): stooping, kneeling, squatting, body twisting, crawling, climbing on/off the truck, climbing poles, gripping, climbing ladders, balancing.
  • OCCASIONAL (up to 33%): standing, sitting, sense of touch, manual dexterity, seeing distant, lifting over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., seeing, reaching, range of motion, depth perception, color vision, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, lifting up to 10 lbs., lifting up to 50 lbs.
