Job description

Join Our Team as a Security Guard at the Embassy Suites Asheville Downtown! This is an overnight shift.

At Parks Hospitality Group, we are seeking a dedicated and professional Security Guard to ensure the safety and security of our hotel property, guests, team members, and visitors. In this highly visible role, you will play a critical part in maintaining a safe and secure environment by conducting regular patrols, monitoring activities, and responding to incidents as needed.

What You’ll Do:

  • Conduct regular foot patrols of hotel interior and exterior, identifying potential safety or security risks.
  • Investigate disturbances, complaints, thefts, vandalism, or accidents within hotel premises.
  • Assist with valet parking and luggage handling, providing a welcoming and secure environment for guests.
  • Respond to emergency situations like fires or hazards, remaining calm and professional.
  • Monitor building security through cameras and other surveillance equipment.
  • Respond to safety threats promptly, assisting management with security-related issues.
  • Complete incident reports related to security matters and follow up on actions taken.
  • Communicate effectively with management, guests, and team members, ensuring safety and compliance with hotel policies.
  • Perform security checks in public areas, ensuring all areas are secure.
  • Stay informed on hotel activities, services, and emergency procedures to address issues proactively.

What You’ll Need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a security or similar role.
  • Valid driver’s license to assist with Valet.
  • First Aid and CPR certification preferred (or required upon hire).
  • Ability to handle situations with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong problem-solving, mediation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused during emergency situations.
  • Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods while patrolling the hotel.
  • Physical ability to lift at least 25 pounds, bend, kneel, and maintain alertness in all situations.
  • Good hearing and attention to sounds, with the ability to observe and recognize potential threats.
