While you may have dedicated break periods and downtime, you are primarily responsible for responding to incidents or emergencies whenever needed. The role usually provides on-site accommodation as part of your compensation, which requires you to live at or near the premises you are protecting. This arrangement offers job stability and integration into the environment, but also means you must be prepared for irregular hours and flexible responsiveness.
A Live In Security Guard is responsible for maintaining security on a property while residing on-site. Their duties typically include monitoring surveillance systems, patrolling the premises, responding to security incidents, and enforcing property rules. They often work in residential buildings, commercial properties, or estates, providing a constant security presence. This role can include additional responsibilities such as light maintenance or assisting residents. Compensation may include free or discounted housing as part of the employment package.

In addition, you are required to be fingerprinted prior to working, and there is a charge that goes to the New York State Education Department in order to process you fingerprints.
