Job description

Join a supportive rural healthcare team providing essential inpatient care in a Critical Access Hospital setting in Randolph, Vermont. This is a rewarding opportunity for experienced Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants who are confident working independently during overnight shifts.

Assignment Details:

  • Start: March 27 (ASAP orientation required)
  • Coverage Dates: Includes March 28–29 nights (8:00 PM – 8:00 AM) with ongoing needs
  • Schedule: Overnight shifts (8 PM – 8 AM)
  • Duration: Ongoing with strong potential for consistent recurring shifts
  • Open availability preferred

Practice Setting:

  • Critical Access Hospital (no ICU)
  • Non-interventional inpatient environment
  • Adult inpatient coverage only
  • Strong support from onsite respiratory therapy

Your Role:

  • Manage overnight inpatient admissions and cross-coverage
  • Develop and adjust patient plans of care
  • Support overnight discharges when needed
  • Provide safe, independent clinical decision-making in a low-procedure environment

Clinical Scope:

  • Adult inpatient hospitalist coverage
  • No routine procedures required
  • Intubation preferred but not mandatory
  • Focus on stabilization, management, and coordination of care

Team & Support:

  • Opportunity to work with a reliable rotating APP group
  • Goal is to build a consistent bench of 2–3 locum providers for ongoing coverage
  • Onsite housing available or local lodging options provided

Requirements:

  • Active Vermont license (required)
  • Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant certification
  • Acute Care certification preferred
  • Comfort with independent overnight inpatient management
  • Strong clinical judgment in low-resource rural setting
