The Overnight Custodian staff is responsible for ensuring the facility meets or exceeds standards of cleanliness to the utmost in guest satisfaction before, during, and after all events.

This role pays an hourly rate of $16.94 - $17.61 (per CBA).

Benefits as per the union agreement.

This position will remain open until December 11, 2026.

The 15,000-seat downtown arena is home to the eleventh-time National Champion UConn Women's Basketball team and the six-time National Champion UConn Men's Basketball team. PeoplesBank Arena entertains millions of visitors annually with a variety of concerts, family shows, ice-skating spectaculars, consumer events, and trade shows throughout the season. The venue has played host to an extraordinary roster of world-renowned artists, including Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Pearl Jam, Black Eyed Peas, Britney Spears, Drake, and many others. PeoplesBank Arena will continue to be the center of sports and entertainment for Hartford and the State of Connecticut for years to come.

• Arrives for each scheduled shift on time, in uniform, and ready to work
• Performs light and heavy cleaning tasks, including but not limited to cleaning bathrooms and locker rooms, sweeping, mopping, and disposing of garbage
• Restocks restrooms with supplies
• Works safely, quickly, and efficiently to meet all deadlines
• Maintains a positive, outgoing demeanor and acknowledges guests in a friendly manner
• All other tasks assigned by the Supervisor

• Cleaning or event-related experience preferred
• Basic understanding of how to use cleaning equipment
• Ability to operate scrubbers, buffers, carpet extractors, etc.
• Basic understanding of Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
• Basic understanding of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Ability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
• Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time, kneel, stoop, climb stairs, and reach above head, as well as perform repetitive motions in connection with cleaning tasks
• Ability to follow detailed instructions, especially when dealing with cleaning products and Safety Data Sheets.
