Job Summary

The Mgr Quality Process Engineer utilizes quality management and process techniques to ensure infrastructure processes align with engineering requirements. This role will also lead continuous improvement efforts to maintain high-quality standards and meet established KPIs for infrastructure expectations.

Essential Functions
  • Proactively review and enhance systems and processes to meet engineering standards.
  • Lead and manage quality model implementation and production process improvements.
  • Meet with production teams to implement efficiency and quality enhancement recommendations.
  • Lead Solution Focus Team meetings to address process-related issues and drive improvements.
  • Design and implement work execution and safety requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience. 
  • Plus 7 years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience. 
  • Plus 9 years of relevant work experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Effective management of multiple projects to timely completion
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Access and Project
  • Deep understanding of FRA, OSHA, and environmental compliance in the railroad industry
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Extensive knowledge of Amtrak equipment nomenclature and transportation industry vehicles
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Flexibility to work extended hours as needed

The salary/hourly range is $124,600.00 - $161,352.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. Depending on an employee's assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee's base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
