Job description

Political Science Non‑Tenure Track Faculty (Applicant Pool)

Montana State University seeks qualified individuals to provide non‑tenurable level instruction and/or related functions in political science sub‑fields, including American Politics, Political Theory, Public Administration and Policy, International Relations, and Research Methods.

Note: This position is not eligible for NEW sponsorship.

Responsibilities
  • Teach on‑campus or online courses as assigned.
  • Advise, evaluate, and assist students.
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in political science, public administration, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching undergraduates.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in political science or public administration.
  • Experience teaching political science courses.
  • Knowledge of college student development.
Attributes of a Successful Candidate
  • Ability to build rapport with freshmen and all students.
  • Mentor and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Skilled in engaging pedagogy that involves students in the learning process.
  • Initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Potential to provide leadership and assume responsibility for organizational and program activities.
