Sweetwater Independent School District is seeking a motivated and student-centered Integrated Physics and Chemistry (IPC) Teacher to join the team at Sweetwater High School. Coaching duties may be assigned based on candidate experience and campus needs. We are looking for an educator who is passionate about science instruction, student engagement, and contributing to a strong campus culture both in the classroom and through extracurricular programs.
Position Overview
The IPC Teacher will deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction that builds students' understanding of foundational concepts in physics and chemistry. The ideal candidate will create a classroom environment that promotes inquiry, problem-solving, and real-world application of scientific principles while also supporting student development through potential coaching responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality Tier 1 science instruction aligned to state standards for IPC
  • Design and implement engaging labs and hands-on learning experiences
  • Use formative and summative assessment data to guide instruction and interventions
  • Prepare students for success on state assessments
  • Foster critical thinking, collaboration, and scientific reasoning
