Position: Business/ Computer Science Teacher
Location: Freedom High School 
Type: Contracted Employee
Start date: Beginning of the 2026-2027 School Year

The Successful Candidate: 
Is knowledgeable about school philosophy and the developmental needs of adolescents and will be able to present the curriculum using a problem-centered approach. 
Demonstrates appropriate long and short term preparation for classroom instruction. 
Holds high expectations for all students and sees themselves as facilitators of student learning. 
Organizes and uses a variety of teaching techniques, strategies, materials, and technology to maximize the learning of each child, individually and in group settings.
Assesses student progress, provides students and parents with specific feedback, and uses the results to adjust instruction as needed. 
Provides opportunities for academic support and challenge. 
Takes responsibility for teaching the District curriculum as outlined in the curriculum documents. 
Demonstrates an understanding of how knowledge in their subject areas is created, organized, and linked to other disciplines and life experiences. 
Keeps abreast of current developments in their field and continues to deepen their understanding of their discipline(s).
Establishes and maintains a functional, attractive, orderly, and safe classroom environment that is conducive to student learning and builds a sense of community. 
Completes other duties as assigned. 











Education: Bachelor's Degree required. 
Certification: Pennsylvania Computer Science 7-12 certification required.
Compensation: Competitive salary based on the Bethlehem Education Association contract. 
Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package.
FLSA Status: Exempt, Professional Exemption-Teacher. 
Work Calendar: 190 days in each contract period.
