Summary/Objective

The packer reports to a supervisor and is responsible for loading windows into wood or metal racks, wrapping finished racks, posting RPO's with a scan gun, moving rack with pallet jack. 

Essential Functions

  1. Prepares work to be accomplished by following a schedule
  2. Packages windows, according to schedule 
  3. Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
  4. Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies
  5. Daily communication with supervisor regarding potential issues
  6. Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  7. Ensures safety measures are followed to protect personnel and company property
  8. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing quality and timely results
  9. Perform other duties as directed by supervisor and management

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to count and record findings. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping, crouching, carrying items, all day. The team member may have to lift and/or move items up to 50+ pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions

  1. Can be hot or cold depending on outside environmental conditions
  2. Will be exposed to a loud and noisy environment
  3. May be interrupted frequently to meet needs and request of personnel and management
  4. Work area is busy and noisy making it challenging to concentrate
  5. Peak times may require longer work period in order to meet the customer demands
  6. Continued interruptions require effective stress management with focus on obtaining 

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

 

This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday; weekend and overnight work is also necessary.

Required Education and Experience

  1. High school diploma or GED
  2. Able to identify that product meets quality and productivity standards
  3. Ability to use hand tools
  4. Ability to focus on details to guarantee production of high quality products
  5. Ability to read and follow documented procedures and standards
  6. Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirements
  7. Willing and available to work overtime to reach goals
  8. Clear communication (oral and written) skills bilingual
