Medical Laboratory Technician / Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLT / MLS)

Location: Saint Peter, MN

Job Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic laboratory tests and procedures to provide accurate and timely results to healthcare providers.

  • Follow established laboratory protocols for specimen collection, handling, processing, and testing.

  • Collect and process specimens using methods such as:

    • Venipuncture

    • Capillary collection

    • Arterial collection (radial)

  • Conduct EKG procedures when required, including standard and specialty EKGs as ordered by providers.

  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of laboratory test results.

  • Identify testing issues or irregularities and report concerns to appropriate laboratory leadership.

  • Maintain knowledge of reagent stability, specimen requirements, and testing methodologies.

  • Communicate effectively with healthcare staff regarding test results, specimen requirements, and testing procedures.

  • Adhere to federal and state regulatory standards, including laboratory safety and compliance requirements.

  • Maintain strict adherence to patient confidentiality and privacy regulations.

  • Support teamwork and assist with workflow management to ensure efficient laboratory operations.

  • Participate in training and onboarding support for new laboratory staff when needed.

Qualifications:

Schedule:
