CDL-A Driver is critically important to our growth and success. The CDL-A Driver will help pre-position assets and materials to maximize operational efficiency. During the winter months, our drivers operate snow & ice management vehicles.

Responsibilities


  • Safe transportation of company assets and materials to and/or from Brilar job sites or between Brilar branches
  • Adhere to all federal, local, and state laws and regulations, as well as company policies
  • Self-loading and unloading of all assets and materials to and/or from Brilar job sites or between Brilar branches
  • Participates in other branch operation activities when called upon to do so
  • Actively participate in snow & ice management operations, which require on-call 24/7 availability
  • Conduct daily DOT inspection(s) of any assets used per federal requirements and company policies
  • Report any vehicle defects or unsafe conditions to the supervisor immediately
  • Report any incidents to the supervisor immediately
  • Always represent the company in a positive and professional manner
  • Embrace and practice education and continuous improvement, to expand knowledge and grow in terms of level of responsibility and contribution to company

Requirements

  • Must have and maintain a valid CDL-A driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Must have a valid MDOT health card
  • Minimum of High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience transporting heavy equipment on flatbed trailers
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen
  • Consent to random, reasonable suspicion, and post-incident drug testing
  • Must be insurable by the Brilar insurance carrier
  • Occasional overnight stays when needed (limited)
  • Required to be on call 24/7 during the winter season, including weekends and holidays
  • During the winter season, time must be flexible, without schedule restrictions
  • During the winter season are expected to complete their assigned shift and/or route, expect and be well prepared to work long hours when called
  • Must be physically able to operate power equipment
  • Able to lift 50+ lbs, bend, and walk repeatedly for a continuous period
  • Able to follow instructions and complete assignments
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally
  • Must be reliable and possess a positive attitude
  • Able to read maps and able to communicate and work well with others
