Job description

Overnight Machine Operator Location: Mebane, NC 27302 Schedule: Sunday–Thursday, 11:00 PM–7:30 AM (overtime as needed) Pay Rate: $20.50/hr Employment Type: W2 contract-to-hire (potential to extend or convert to a permanent role) Company: Becton Dickinson (BD) Job Summary Operate and monitor automated assembly equipment to complete routine production tasks including assembly, packing/packaging, labeling, and inspection. Follow established procedures while meeting required quality, safety, and productivity standards. Maintain accurate production documentation in alignment with FDA requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and ISO 9000 standards.

Work as part of a team under direct supervision while supporting production goals and continuous improvement efforts. Key Responsibilities Set up, start, operate, and monitor automated assembly machines and related equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs). Load components and materials, verify correct parts and labels, and confirm proper machine settings for each work order.

Perform in-process checks and visual inspections to ensure product quality; identify and separate nonconforming materials. Complete production records, logs, and batch documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain a clean and organized work area and complete routine equipment cleaning in accordance with GMP and safety requirements.

Report equipment issues, process deviations, and quality concerns to the Team Lead or Supervisor; assist with basic troubleshooting within role scope. Follow all safety, housekeeping, quality, and PPE requirements at all times. Support production goals by rotating between tasks and workstations and assisting team members as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior manufacturing or production experience in a machine-paced environment required. Ability to read, write, interpret, and follow instructions/specifications in English.

Basic math skills and strong attention to detail. Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment. Ability to work scheduled hours, overtime as needed, and maintain regular attendance.

Willingness to rotate tasks and responsibilities as assigned under direct supervision. Ability to make routine decisions within established procedures. .
