THE POSITION
The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate records of all inventories. Combining manual duties with computerized systems, this role is essential to ensure the consistency of stock levels and that products are available for sale or distribution.
Requirements
KEY JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Physical Inventory Checks:
Perform regular physical counts (i.e. cycle and full) of inventory.
Check actual stock against computerized records.
Report discrepancies to superiors.
Rotate stock as necessary.
Report any stock issues or discrepancies to management.
Supporting
Inventory Management:
Conduct daily inventory analysis to solve inventory issues.
Develop and implement improvements to existing operational procedures.
Regularly update inventory system and database.
Generate regular inventory reports (e.g., for stock levels, costs, deliveries).
JOB QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Ensure timely and accurate receipt of incoming shipments.
Coordination with Other Departments:
Work closely with purchasing department to ensure that stock levels are appropriate.
Liaise with sales staff to ensure necessary stock levels are maintained.
Assist the shipping department in finding products in the warehouse.
System Maintenance:
Use inventory management software to track goods and reorder products.
Assist in the installation, maintenance, and training processes of new software or hardware related to inventory control.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
** MUST BE ABLE TO WORK OVERNIGHT M-F 3AM - 12PM (SOME WEEKENDS) **
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in inventory control, warehousing, or a related field is beneficial.
Proficiency with inventory management software or databases.
Basic mathematical skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Good communication skills - both verbal and written.
Ability to work in a team and coordinate with multiple departments.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Proficiency in warehouse inventory systems. Epicor experience strongly preferred.
Problem-solving aptitude.
