To thrive as an Overnight Help Desk professional, you need strong troubleshooting abilities, comprehensive knowledge of IT systems, and typically a degree or certification in information technology. Familiarity with ticketing systems like ServiceNow, remote access tools, and common operating systems is often required. Excellent communication, patience, and the capacity to work independently during off-hours are vital soft skills. These competencies ensure timely and effective technical support, maintaining organizational productivity and user satisfaction during overnight shifts.

Overnight Help Desk professionals often encounter unique challenges such as handling urgent technical issues with limited on-site support and maintaining alertness during non-traditional hours. Job description

Position Overview

Build a career, not just take a job. We're looking for a hands-on Installation Technician to join our growing team, installing and servicing security cameras, surveillance systems, POS, and low-voltage solutions, including AV and home automation. We're customer-focused and solutions-driven: every install solves a real problem for a real client. You'll join a tight-knit, versatile crew where everyone pitches in, and you'll have room to grow into Help Desk and MSP support as you build your skills. If you're hands-on and hungry to grow into IT, this is your shot.

Responsibilities

  • Installation & Maintenance: Install, configure, and troubleshoot IP cameras, CCTV/NVR systems, VMS servers, point-to-point bridges, alarm systems, mobile surveillance, POS, AV, and home automation systems.
  • Low-Voltage & Cabling: Run and organize Cat6/coaxial cabling; install racks, switches, NVRs, Wi-Fi access points, AV equipment, and smart home devices.
  • Technical Support: Troubleshoot hardware/software issues on-site and by phone (POS, payment processing, MSP, security, and AV/automation)
  • MSP Support: Build toward tier 1–3 support, configuring, monitoring, and maintaining client networks, systems, and endpoints.
  • Site Assessments: Evaluate sites and recommend tailored solutions before installation.
  • Documentation: Track installs and inventory; manage help desk tickets through resolution.
  • Customer Training: Train clients to confidently use and maintain their systems.
  • Travel & On-Call: Occasional travel (including overnight) and on-call rotation with prompt response times.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
  • 2+ years in technical installation and/or MSP support; CCTV, POS, AV, or low-voltage experience a plus
  • Solid grasp of wiring, networking, and device configuration (Azure, Active Directory, Entra)
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills, in-person and remote
  • Customer-first mindset—you solve problems, not just fix things
  • Able to lift 50 lbs., work on ladders, and handle physical installation work
  • Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends

Why Join Us?

No two days look alike, and that's the point. You'll join a team that invests in your growth and trusts you with more as you're ready. Want a real career in tech, not just a job? Let's talk.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary
  • Major Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance plans offered
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Career growth opportunities
  • A collaborative, supportive team and hands-on work environment where your contributions make a direct impact.
